The forecaster has issued a 24-hour weather warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms, covering much of England and eastern Wales on Monday.

The Met Office has issued a new weather warning of thunderstorms and lightning that will affect several parts of the country. The weather alert could bring power cuts, localised flooding some cancellations to train and bus services.
The forecaster has issued a 24-hour yellow warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms on Monday, September 2, covering most of the UK, while a separate weather warning is in place for Sunday, covering much of England and eastern Wales from 4am to 9pm on Sunday.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dan Harris, said: “The risk of thunderstorms steadily transfers northwards through Sunday afternoon and into the early evening."

The warning for Sunday indicates there will be "disruption from heavy showers and thunderstorms."
The alert, which took effect at 4am covers a swath of central England from the Isle of Wight to Newcastle upon Tyne.
In Wales, the areas of Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen, and Wrexham are impacted. The Environment Agency has seven flood alerts currently in place.
The updated warning comes a day after the Met Office issued a yellow alert on Saturday.
